Thanks for the quick response.

From what I now see happening, the "DELETE TAG ALL" does not delete
the CDX when it is run just before the start of the index creation.

However, if the CDX is deleted from the disk way above the creation
of the new CDX, the CDX will be the correct size.

The client has been running with large CDXs for years without a known problem.
