Can someone please help me with Visual Source Safe? My development team is expanding and we need some type of source control, yet I am becoming very frustrated in trying to implement VSS.

Here's just a few questions:

1) Up to now, we have been keeping two copies of our code, one on a network drive, and one locally. Files are modified locally then moved out to the network drive when done. I created a master VSS project from the network set, yet when I check out the VFP project, nothing appears to have happened. I can modify a form but it is shown "READ ONLY". Aren't you supposed to be able to check out component files in a VSS-controlled project through the VFP project manager?

2) What does the "Join Source Control Project" option (under the VFP "File" menu choice) do? It was my understanding that VFP projects had to be checked out through the VSS manager. When I go through that option, nothing appears under the "Visual FoxPro project file" listbox.

3) Can two people share a VFP project (PJX) simultaneously? I know that VSS won't allow modifications to the same component, but working off the same project strikes me as being critical.

The documentation in both VSS and VFP regarding their cooperation is severely lacking. I don't consider myself to be a stupid person but this sure makes me feel like one.

TIA and if you're at DevCon, I'll owe you a beer!
