Hi, Peter.

Í don't want to argue, nor take position (now). Just wanted to point a few ideas I had reading your message.

>I've red that certain MVPs will gonna get insight in certain OSs. And these MVPs are chosen for their great expertise in one or more Microsoft products and a willingness to share their expertise with peers.

>I suspect however that these MVPs will not be allowed to disclose the source code to others.

Of course not. They'll have to signed a bunch of NDAs, and stuff like that.

Microsoft is not doing that as an Open Source initiative. What they say is this is a way for having better quality checks, and let them offer better support to the community. They have being doing the same with some goverments and large companies.

>2 These MVPs will in the end be the untouchable elite amongst the professionals.

>Being better and/or more indispensable than others is fine with me, if it's based on qualities such as a preparedness to do more research on topics than others, or just being smarter. But the basic sources/resources should be the same for every developer! If that's not the case, then there's not a fair competition!

The whole MVP program is based on giving selected individual access to certain resources to help them support the developer community. I think than in this case, they wouldn't share the source code, but they can indeed confirm is some kind of problems actually comes from the OS.
