I was not able to get things working using the code you suggested; however, setting the Style to 0 - Dropdown Combo with the following code in the combobox Refresh and Valid events did work...

The code that I gave you assumed a style of 0-Drop Down Combo. Its purpose was to allow the user to select an item not currently in the list. Obviously, this functionality assumes that the user can actually type a new value into the combo box - something that they are unable to do if the style is 2-Drop Down List < s >.

Sorry is I did not make that crystal clear.
