Hi Jim:

The clients are all using Windows 2000...the server, where the table resides, is running Windows 2000 Server. the code is written in VFP 6.

After a quick reread of Yuri's note, and his suggestion to reindex the serialno table, I wanted to make sure that everyone understood that it only contains one record with one field....and that the one field simply gets 1 added to it as a 'marker' as to where we are in terms of serial numbers...does that make sense?
