I did, but, I am writing to a different table after user input. I want to write the quantity entered by my users to the orders table. So I need to read the value entered by the user to create a new record.

>Do you create the template in the design mode? Then you can associate a data field to it. That association gets translated into the text property of the bound template column ( ex Text='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container, "DataItem.referenceid") ')
