Jon,
I was involved early on with trying to use OLEDB provider with Crystal 9 and determined the original provider could not enumerate stored procedures. You can tell Crystal 9 not to use stored procedures but I think I recall VFP still crashed. I went to a lot of trouble to report this issue with a member of the OLEDB team at Microsoft and am disappointed to hear that it may not be corrected. I really haven't had time to test the new provider myself bu will be dowing so in the next 30 days and will let you know what I discover.
For now...
1. I use Crystal 9
2. I use the latest ODBC driver that shipped with VFP 7
3. I do not use the autoinc data type (it is not nor will it be supported by ODBC)
