Hi Neil,

I,m surprised to here that C++ can be faster than C, because I was under the impression the C++ was a layer built on top of C, which would suggest that C++ would add some overhead above pure C. I really don't know how all the language functionality available to VFP works, but I'm well pleased with the speed of a Visual FoxPro application.

Most of my experience is with VFP and perl. I've written a couple of test C apps, just to see how I would like it, but that about it. I've also compiled some perl apps into C, and it seem to increase the size of an app about 100 fold.

I read somewhere that it take about 10 years to master C/C++ while proficiency in VFP can be obtained in about 1/2 the time, or 5 years.

Regards,
