As I am getting more and more involved with MM.NET (and .NET in general), I am constantly comparing this environment to my VFP development environment. There are good news and bad news here, but one specific area that seems very tedious with .NET/MM.NET is the fact that I can't generate and maintain my database design in a case tool or at least a data dictionary that would be integrated into the framework, and simply drag and drop data items from a cursor/live data view onto the form, have the formats and input masks and all the other good stuff taken care of automatically and be done with that.

As it is (unless I'm missing something here), I have to do a lot of manual work to set up data entry fields, a lot of it is even repetitive. I am so used to setting up and maintaining my data design and field domains in a case tool (xCase in my case...) that the MM.NET approach is starting to feel very tedious.

Are you guys thinking about integrating a data dictionary of some sort into the product, or, better yet, integrating a case tool into it directly? I am not familiar with Mere Mortals/VFP, but I have worked extensively with VPME and VFE, and I know that they both integrate xCase very easily. Makes that part of your work a breeze.

There is a lot of good stuff going on with MM.NET, and it is certainly much easier and faster to develop .NET apps with it than coding everything by hand, but integrating a data dictionary (at least) would be a major improvement, IMHO.
