thanks for the response Yuri. I needed to declare the array public inside the click event. when initially declaring the variables in the click event, i declared my array using the dimension command instead of using public, so when i couldn't access the array in the prg it caused me to get way off track by trying to declare the variables in the prg. anyways, i got it working. thanks again.
