Does this mean that it's not the active form at the time when you call the release method?
Anyway, why bother with calling the release method?
I assume you've got a close button in some sort of toolbar or an Exit bar in a menu or something like that on the form, so why not just issue a KEYBOARD '{ALT+F4}' in the click method of the button, and the rest happens automatically.
