Thanks Martin,
I hope you can install the software in a user-independent way, but... how?
On our workstations, we have one login for all WindowsXP, LANserver, and MailServer. Sometimes (depending on the user that logs in), when I install Palm I am prompted to choose under which user I want it installed. Choices are: the WS admin, the user currently logged on, or another user. If I chose the WS admin, the Palm installs, but when I try to run it, it complains that the configuration setting are wrong, and exits, or it complains that some .exe is mising and it will open. In both cases, the hotsync does not work.
If I install the Palm for the user that is currently logged on, everything is fine, Palm software runs and hotsync is working - but... only for that user. If another user loggs on, the hotsync does not work, and the hotsync manager reports that COM1 is not available - in fact, it should not look for a serial port at all, because the Palm is connected via USB connector, more the USB is not an option in the hotsync manager menu.
