True story:
Once - a long time ago - in a place far far away - I engaged an attorney to enforce a simple deed restriction. I specifically said write a request for a summary judgement.
After two years of delays, and him telling me I need a jury trial [and several thousand dollars], I asked a business acquaintence [an honest lawyer] that taught property law at RICE to review my cause. He wrote the request - 2 pages. My idiot - over billing - original attorney was forced to present the request to a Judge. I won - it was over in ten minutes. In some cases - we need attornies to oversee the shysters we fall prey to.
