When we had to do this, we decided not to use the upsizing wizard at all. Yes, it creates and loads the tables ok but it doesn't handle the indexes well. In a lot of cases it changed the field order! Since our apps deal with a standardized database schema, we wrote our own upsizing program using SQL pass-through. We then use SQLServer scripts to add the indexes, triggers, stored procedures, etc.

If you can't attend an official training course, "SQLServer Training" by Microsoft Press is a good self-paced training course. The ISBN is 1-55615-930-7. Check out Amazon.com for it. They give pretty good discounts (retail is $199.00 US). There are also several third party books available. Again, search Amazon.com.

"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars and so on -- whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man -- for precisely the same reasons." - Douglas Adams
