Hi, Eric.

>After various other challenges in displaying international character sets, I've now hit the hardest challenge yet...I have a project where I have to store and display Chinese characters.

>The simplified Chinese character set will be sufficient, but I am (not surprisingly) using the US version of VFP, so it does not have the dual-byte text encoding features one would have access to in the far east version of VFP.

>What are my options here? Does anybody know about an ActiveX control that can display dual-byte fonts and character sets? Where is a good place to get dual-byte fonts for Chinese? What about another solution I haven't considered?

There is just one VFP version, and you're using the right one! 8-)

What you need is to have an international version of your OS.

By the way, I think James Sanders has already done this. Maybe you can ask him for a few tips.

Also, you may find useful this book:

Hope this helps,
