Hi All:
I have a SQL 2k developer's version on my Win XP Pro machine that I want to connect to from other workstations for testing purposes. I've never tried to create DSNs to any target Sql Server that has not been on an actual network server before, and I'm unable to get it working.
I'm guessing this is some sort of security issue, but I don't know what I need to do to get this to work. Basically, I'm creating a DSN using SQL Authentication with a valid username and password. On one workstation I get the error 'SQL Server does not exist or access denied.' On a second workstation I get 'Client unable to establish connection.' I can create a DSN on the machine that has Developer SQL Server on it no problem. And, of course, I can create connections on any machine to the production SQL Server located on the network server.
So can someone tell me what's going on?
Thanks...
