Absolutely true, and not only 'in the west'. But, in general terms, I do believe Canada's cultural history is more socialistic than that of the US. And I do believe it colours the way we see things.
I was born here in Toronto, but I lived in Edmonton for almost 11 years back in the mid '70's and early '80's. Remember Peter Lougheed? I loved it. I had to be dragged back here kicking and screaming by the company I was working for at the time. Of course, I love it here too all over again. I must say that Northern Alberta is
almost as beautiful as Northern Ontario. ;)
