>Just for laugh. Ten years ago, a manager asked me to write a VB routine to manipulate strings before sending them to another process. The VB routine took about 2 hours to manipulate about 10,000 records (one line per record). I rewrote the routine using Borland C++ and the process took less than 1.5 seconds...

Ten years ago? C++? Wow. Has it really been around that long? I can't remember the year Borland released their C++ but that made it "official". The language was standard and stable. Borland had that much respect back then. Nowadays do we notice if Borland releases something?

The impossible we do immediately.
The miraculous will take a little longer.
