Well, actually, Microsoft already has a slice in Borland. I remember they invested some money about a year or two ago, saving Borland when they were finnancialy on the edge.

Beyond Delphi, I think Borland is a nice target for Microsoft (hope the DOJ is not hearing me) because of their great development tools like Together, Caliber, StarTeam, etc.

The problem would be what to do with the lots of tools for Java. I guess MS would not be very interested in mantainig those.
