I am sure there is in the API somewhere. I would suggest not doing it however. The user selects their resolution because that is what they want, if your app changes this on them it is not a very nice neighbor on their computer.

What if the user is visually imparied and they must have 640x480, you change it on them and they can't see your app?

What if the user likes 1680x1240 becasue they can open many apps and see them all, you change it on them and they can't?

I, for one, would immediately delete and throw away any application that mucked around with the configuration that I have set on MY computer.
