I need a new faster notebook for .NET and SQL Server and IIS, but I've heard many newer notebooks won't upgrade to Win XP professional from the Home Edition they come with.

Many newer notebooks are coming now with Win XP Media Edition which looks more like XP Pro in that IIS is an option in the Windows Components, and Mycomputer/properties/computername allows one to join a domain.

Will SQL Server Developer's Edition install on Win XP Media Edition?
