A user has table with an inventory number as the key field (but not defined as primary field because it is an old application). When adding data recently he noticed that it aways start 1 plus last value entered for 1st new record entered. I found problem and fixed it.

While not a large table about 2000-3000 records it has losts of fields. He asked how hard would it be do re-sequence the fields so they are sequnecial (i.e. nolonger as missing values). Is there an efficent way of doing this? If so what is it?
