Thanks for responding...I meant to post a response to my own post, because I figured it out the next day.

The only thing 'corrupted' was the stupid programmer [me]. I had accidently removed the [web method] line from my web service. It still compiled, but obviously I couldn't use it for anything. Once I put it back in, everything worked fine.
