Right-click on a directory, and select "properties".

You can't always be sure whether it actually fits on CD, because of differences in cluster sizes. On a hard disk, the size of each individual file has to be rounded up to the closest cluster size. I am not sure whether CDs use the concept of clusters.

But with the "properties" you will get an estimate.
