And that is why I think it is somewhat naive for Ken to think that choice is universally present. No question about it - .NET is for real and real apps are getting built. Of the two environments - no question I am more at home in VFP. Heck, VB 6 still feels better than .NET. Nonetheless, you can get stuff in .NET - which is good. Productivity is the name of the game and yes -some things still take too long in .NET - but it will get better - and quite frankley - is not *that* bad today.
The strategic issue IMO - is the interplay - or lack thereof - Fox will achieve with the platform. It is quite possible that Fox will not be able in the near future - to create "Windows" applications. Just as Win32s was required to run Fox apps in Win16 - I fear that some sort of compatibility layer will be required for Fox to run under some future version of Windows. And we all know how wonderful Win32s was.....
