i didn't say INI file (or registry, or setup table) is wrong
I use something similar for holding the basic "properties"
of the aplication (path, printers etc.)
this is just an addition

no relative paths work for current dir as well (.\data)

i use the Dataenvironment (DE) as well,but having the DE in
code gives me the ability to use it in sub-classes of forms
and not just on the VFP standard form class
