>>I presented evidence before making that statement. I think it was the first message of the thread. It was not 'matter of fact'. Furthermore, look at what Strahl, Petersen, Macneish, Hentzen and other Foxpro heavyweights are saying. Add to this some of the statistics cited... and i'd have to stand by my statement that VFP 5 and 6 sold way way better than VFP 8.

>You may as well have started this thread with R.i.p. M.S. The push to get .NET in front of corporate Benchies is not related to the usability of VFP in future MS architectures - but to some extent, fear of Linux and Open Source.
>
>Maybe - while you throw out your VFP development suites - you should build a Linux system, learn a little VI and AIX. Rather than lamenting VFP's demise, how long has that been going on - you may need to worry about the future of Windows - think about it! When was the last time your MS stock doubled?

>It's flat for everyone and the C# space is mighty tight. Don't leave yourself out in the cold with only your C# and .NET to keep you warm. Broaden your horizons - learn some non MS technologies.

thanks for the interesting perspective....
A customer of mine is starting to use OpenOffice so i guess that'll be my first tentative step.

Dave.
