Doesn't made sense often to me either, but generally you would think the company who's being bought is the one who's stock goes up, not the other way around...afterall the buyer company is SPENDING money.

Keep in mind it's split a few times. I have no idea if it's a good time to buy in, heck I was gonna get some RedHat (RHAT) stock myself and look what happened to it today..hahaha..
