I've been working with the TIFF format in my Report Engine recently and have been converting images to different formats. If you have some examples that you can send me with and without stretch and identify them as such I can look at the file properties to see what may be causing the problems. You can email them to me directly using the envelope in my user profile above. Hopefully you can then compensate for the stretching somehow.

It appears that when fax images are saved from Outlook, they are already stretched out and distorted. If I view the saved file in a TIFF_specific viewer (our viewer meant to view faxes), the image looks fine. But if I view the TIF from any other standard image viewer program (like Microsoft's built-in one with Office), I see the stretch.

So, when trying to save the TIF pages as PNG using GDIPLUS, they get saved in the poor quality.

And this only happens with certain fax TIFs, not all of them.

Anyone seen anything like this? Is this some sort of TIF phenomenon? Can I check the TIF type (or something) to determine how to manipulate them? Any help will be appreciated...

Thanks,
JoeK
