Hi Bob. I dont think that's a good argument. The flaw was there and presumably many end-users got burned. The fact that afterwards MS provided a fix is a good thing but does not in itself excuse the flaw.
You asked Jim a question if it was MS's fault and he answered. It was. Or at least theirs and the virus writers.
