>> I have also been critical of where Advisor has held these events especially Palm Springs CA which is a bear to get to for most of us. If you had to pay your own way including the exorbitant registration fee compared to GLGDW, EssentialFox and others, where would you like to see the Advisor FoxPro DevCon held? How much benefit do you think attendees get for the $$$ they pay per night from the resort facilities and locations? <<
Personally, I'd choose locations where many people could get there without having to change planes -- that is, airline hubs.
As for hotels, which are actually the more significant expense for most people, I certainly enjoy the amenities of a resort, but don't really get enough time to use them. I have reached the point in my life where I want a certain level of hotel room, but for my family, I certainly price shop.
FWIW, I've said all this to Advisor more than once, as have many of the other speakers.
I know that one issue always has been having adequate and appropriate meeting room space. As DevCon gets smaller, that's less of an issue and we may see a wider range of venues.
