Title:
Defense of Foxpro as a Client/Server
Please help, the below message is from a VB programmer to the owner of my company and I want to prepare the most complete and accurate response possible. I'm researching on the net now, but would love to have additional input from the experts here. He is saying he cannot pull in Foxpro data into VB for the following reasons. Thanks in advance for any help! CJ

This request IS necessary since FoxPro is NOT a client server database and is NOT designed to be accessed from anything but a Local Area Network (LAN). Since FoxPro requires file handles to be opened by the client, it is highly inefficient and not really practical (or advisable) to stretch FoxPro data across a WAN. That is why you use terminal services from outside your office.
