>>Good points, but just becuase something is supported till 2010 doesn't mean anyone's going to still be using it then. For example, lets say VFP9 comes out, its supported till say 2012, but it's the last version. I, for one, wouldn't write one line of code with it because everyone's going to stop using it...

>This is not true. Is FoxPro for DOS 2.0 still supported by MS? Because I know of several major financial institutions in NYC that STILL have developers maintaining and modifying Fox DOS applications. VFP will be running in small to large businesses for years and years to come because it’s a data workhorse. The only reason MS doesn’t promote and may even someday kill VFP is it doesn't make the greedy bastards enough money. It’s really that simple.

No Foxpro 2.0 is not supported by MS since 30-Sep-1999. (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];LifeDevToolFam)

And even if it was, my point was why on earth would anyone write a NEW application with it? So if VFP9 was the last version, would you waste your time writing stuff in it or simply move to something else that will be around longer?? I myself would move to something else, and I'm sure we all can come up with 1000 reasons why it would be a wise move to do so.
