If I remmber correctly ( been through this before), the pointers in the existing dbf records will still point to the same areas of the fpt file.

Bad part is that the newly inserted records will have pointers that might point to the same areas and will thus cause the older records to display data from the newly inserted records in the dbf.

Not a pretty sight. Haven't had it happen since FPW 2.6 days, so I don't know if its worse or better with VFP 7 or 8.

What I was wondering is what will happen to the table if records are added that make the fpt file exceed the limitation ? will they new records just truncate ? will the dbf record store the info without the related memo information ?
