Claude,

>I don't know why having a few (1 or 2 maybe) articles on vfp interop with .NET or using Web/Win forms with a VFP backend makes no business sense?? I actually think it does make business sense since the VFP community probably knows more about Code than anyone else...

We covered COM Interop in great detail back in the March/April 2002 .NET Launch issue. There are still a few back issues available for ordering on the CoDe site.

As for using Win or Web forms with Fox data, that's pretty much as simple as using the OLE-DB driver and namespace instead of those for SQL Server, with a few quirks. There could be good material in using VFP COM backend, but that's COM interop and we've already covered that.

There is so much material that we have not yet covered, and we have so many potential authors wanting to write for us now, we're sort of covered up with compelling ideas these days. If we decide to do another VFP special issue in the future, we'll surely be open to explore many exciting uses of VFP. (And remember that all the VFP content in special issues also ends up on DevX and on the CoDe site for all to see).

As for the VFP community knowing more about CoDe than anyone else... that may have been true 3 years ago, but after several years of booths and distribution at TechEd, PDC, VSConnections, .NET Launch events, Office launch events, exposure on DevX, links into our site from many other high traffic sites, bulk distribution to INETA user groups, newsstand sales, and so forth, we now have a much higher visibility in the broader MS developer world. (We heard at PDC that a MSDN Magazine focus group rated CoDe as the #2 developer magazine, behind MSDN Mag).

We do, however, appreciate all our friends in the VFP world who continue to subscribe and will keep them in mind along with the millions of other potential readers as we choose editorial content and special issue content.

Thanks for your helpful suggestions...
