>Hi, I have read that there is delphi for .net... will it happen to be vfp for .net ? what about the database functions and binding enhanced in VFP ?
There are currently no plans to have Europa (next version of VFP) be based on or use the Windows .NET Framework nor integrated into Visual Studio .NET. The plan for Europa is to be primarily based on FoxPro developer wish list feedback and remain a direct upgrade to Visual FoxPro 8.0 with backwards compatibility. There is a great deal of preview about Europa announced yesterday in Germany, see the details in the UT conference report at
http://www.levelextreme.com/Conferences/German/2003The group I'm in at Microsoft called VS Data is responsible for influencing the existing .NET languages, mainly VB .NET and C#, as well as the core .NET Framework classes to add VFP-like data and data functionality in general. So you should expect to see the existing .NET languages evolve rather than new .NET languages like FoxPro be added to the Microsoft developer tools suite.
