I finally managed to create my query, indeed by using an alias.
Not as need as your query (I used 'and' instead of 'join') but I got it working.
The reason i wanted it in one sql statement was that i found some code for automating word (using word to generate reports) which i liked.
This example for automating word used one query wich could be stored in a table for later use.
What i like about this aproch (using word automation) is that it creates more possibilities for users to format the output of the data.
Another advantage for me is that this automatically creates a word and a excel (used as datasource for the merge document) representation of the data.
I have to admit that, as far as i can see, this works only well for relativly simple reports. But in my case this is a big step forward :-)
Every bit of generic code is welcome in a situation where there is none.
