Sorry I was asking a specific question in that new to Yukon is the ability to specify a varchar column which has a length of 'ANY' so that you can effectively replace some usage of the 'text' datatype.
This will make manipulation of these longer strings an awful lot easier, even if indexing on them could be slower.
That was really what I was getting at.
Memo fields in VFP continue to cause problems with broken links, so being able to store unlimited length text data directly into the data table would be a big win.
