I'd say 70% of the FoxPro community names variables that way. Anyone coming to the project from the outside would most likely feel "at home" with that convention.

Aaack! You have to go all the way to the end of the word to find out some important things like clues to the data type and scope. When "lc" is used as a prefix then variables sort nicely, when used as a suffix it doesn't help at all.

I'd find that acceptable but it looks choppy.

Again, you have to read all the way to the end of the word to find out what you really want to know. If I worked for your boss I'd hate being held to a standard that no one else uses. If you used lcMyVariable you'd be using the most common convention.

How about opening up a few Hentzenwerke books or Adivsor magazines (you do have them don't you?) and showing your boss the conventions used there.
