This will surprise you! The error was because of a typo in a controlsource field name. I shied away from using the data environment initially and even though I use it now I will still type in a field name rather than selecting from the drop down - result typos! However I wouldn't have thought a field name typo would cause this error and consistent GPF's! I'm getting this in VFP3 and they say it's buggy!!!!
