> Should I start learning something besides VFP now that I have no native Fox tables?
Ross, as much as I love VFP, if somebody told me that they were going to build a c/s app that effectively needed no local (client-side) database engine, I would recommend VB. VB is a bit more ActiveX-friendly, so it's easier to integrate it with the rest of the WIntel world. VB's RDO capabilities provide some features that VFP does not (e.g., the triggering of events related to c/s data access). There are many more VB than VFP developers out there, come the day that somebody else might need to update existing code.
So if your app is primarily one of data display, or even transaction processing, then VB is a fine choice, as would be VFP in most cases. However, if you will be doing much client-side data manipulation or data analysis, nothing else comes close to VFP insofar as speed and performance.
