HI Jos

> Personally I dont think people normally respond to articles they have read in any magazine unless, as you say, they feel very strongly about it - and then usually only if they disagree with the it.

That's certainly true :)

>As an avid reader of a wide variety of books and magazines I have never sent an email to the authors. I think most readers simply vote with their wallets and buy/not buy the publication as they feel appropiate - which is a direct expression of the level of appreciation for the editorial content.

In some ways that is the problem though. If you either like, or don't like, something it is always helpful to the authors to know - after all if you hate what I write, just not buying the magazine won't change that (though of course it may end up with the magazine going broke and then I'd have no forum).

But if you told me that unless I changed my ways you would stop buying the magazine (actually, thinking about, it I'd probably say 'ah well, can't please everyone' - or words to that effect). But of course if 100 people told me the same thing then I'd have to think about what I am saying and how I am saying it.

Again, unless they don't like it for some reason.
