>I am redoing a web site and have decided to move from html + css to asp.net. I already have asp skills but want to play around with asp.net a bit. firstly the site does not need .net or any database functionality,i know that there are some out there that will say all sites should be but really this one doesn't. i want to do this so that i can start with basics and move forward, the only problem is that i am not too sure where to start from. i created a solution and also a project but neither were easy to work with and the project actually gave me errors from it own code! can i just create single .aspx pages and link them or do i really need to create a project/solution to harness the full power of .net? i was thinking of using c# as the language as well. any help etc much appreciated.

For an ASP.NET application, when I built it, I put the Web.config file on the root, the related ASPX files and the two BIN files. That's pretty much the only files needed as a start.
