Although I have not migrated any of my (now *very* old Clipper apps), but did migrate a few FPW2.6, I would say that there are many advantages.

- Object Orientation
- Modern design
- Commercial VFP Framework availability
- Access to newer technology (COM, Automation, ZIP libraries, Web Services, easy XML, OleDB/ADO, etc.)

Granted, not all apps require this. If a Clipper app (with a DOS interface running in an old box), still does everything the customer needs, then why change it? But those kind of apps should now be in the minority, as new technologies are sought for newer needs, internet access, collaboration, event binding, and so on.
