>Has the .NET craze ended? Has it made any progress in the "real" world?
Well, for the Universal Thread, yes, we have some great benefits of it. As a matter of fact, I just finished an 8 pages article that will be released in our December issue of the Universal Thread Magazine which deals with the combination of VFP and .NET. There are some great advantages of mixing both technologies.
As for me, I first started on it at the beginning of the year when we migrated our Web Service into .NET. It was a good choice for us to move it to that platform for several benefits we gained.
>If I was to take up .NET, which one should it be... C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET (e.t.c.)?
I guess it depends on what you have to deliver. Then, it should be a little bit easier I guess to select one. But, I'm not an expert on it. So, I guess you'll have a lot of answers from knowledgeable people that know a lot more than me on that topic.
