I'm glad that helped. It usually does. However, Windows XP does not have NETBEUI and you would need to the NWLINK protocols on XP. FYI!
There really isn't much difference between Win2K server and Win2K. The major difference is the THREAD PRIORITIES for networking services and file sharing over and above the UI services like you might have with the Workstation Professional version.
Ok, I added Netbeui protocol to both boxes, and that speeded it up to what I would have expected... :) I wouldn't have noticed this, so thanks a million.
I haven't had time to see if this stopped the instability, but expect it will.
Just curious, in your experience would there be any speed difference in speed if one box was Windows 2000 Server instead of just Windows 2000 Professional?
