I'm using the enterprise manager, but can't seem to understand you point. the enterprise manager is about setting up and mainaining the database, not about the DML. Generally in small scaled apps you should not worry about mantenance at all.

From Enterprise Manager - you can launch Query Analyzer - which is entirely about DML, DDL, and DCL. Also, even small apps - you have to (or at least should worry) about maintenance.
