I do dig in for particular articles now and then, and sometimes they're fairly old. I like reading paper when it's more than a few paragraphs, so I'd rather keep the magazines than rely on online versions. For that matter, I know the magazines will keep being available. Can't say that for online copies.
All that aside, I am, by nature, a squirrel. I have over 25 years of one magazine that I started subscribing to right after I got married, too. I have all my college textbooks, all my kids' report cards, all the bank statements since we were married, and so forth. Most of it is organized well enough that I can find stuff when I want to.

Good idea. I think I'd do the same if I had a user group to give them to. (There hasn't been one here for a lot of years.)
