Yes, well, that is why I asked before giving too many details. I would use Excel within a company (I did a lot of Excel automation, but didn't yet find much need for graphics).

For a program you sell, you will probably have to find some ActiveX control, or perhaps MSGraph. I hope somebody else can provide you with more details.
