Look Jim...

Gerry threw out the assertion that he could absolutely write a more "sophisitcated" app using native Fox dml/ddl and fox data. That implies and means a mono-lithic app. I don't have to get into whether it is bad or good. Yes - even a monolithic app - if it does what the client wants - to one degree or another - can be considered good I supposed - but that was not Gerry's challenge.

Let's just clear this up now.... if the message is not 100% positive Fox - paints Fox in a positive light at the expense of anything that is not Fox - you are not interested.

If you are claiming my point is that monolithic = bad - please re-read. That is not my point.

I don't spew MS propoganda. Tell you what - look at the non-MS stuff out there and you find some articles that state monolithic is better than n-tier. Go ahead.

Basically this is what you are donig: attempting to:

1. Reframe what I say into another point and ;
2. That point is attempting to prove a negative.

Here is your statement:

"There's no proof that monolithic is bad."

Tell you what...how about showing some authoritative evidence that states that monolithic is good. For sure, I can find loads of literature that state why n-tier is good. I can't believe I am actually entertaining this discussion that effectively pits the way we wrote apps in 1988 to how we would write them today.

So no Jim....it really is "there YOU go again...."

And while I am at it, let me throw this one out...as anti-MS as you apparently are - if MS started promoting Fox tommorow - with cat-like speed you would be right back on that MS-bandwagon. I love the people who mask their anti-MS rhetoric as ideology. It is nothing but rhetoric when it can be so situational as this. Face it, with you and many others - there is a collective chip on the collective shoulder. And - if MS started promoting Fox tomorrow - your opinion would turn on a dime.

So - show some proof that monolithic is good.

There you go again, John.... you throw out a simple statement that carries with it the conclusion the monolithic = BAD.
>There's no proof that monolithic is bad. There's plenty of MS hype saying so, but somehow I don't qualify that as proof. I wonder how it is that you can pick and choose what parts of the MS propaganda machine you take as true while challenging others.
